The train ride was breath taking the beauty was unreal . Scenic trip--beautiful Alaska. I would strongly recommend this excursion to anyone. Alaska Shore Excursions was great in organising our shore tours. But overall it was a nice ride, very clean, relaxing, good for those seeking scenic historical tour. There is no walking involved so it is very doable for everyone. Beautiful! This is a must do in Skagway; simply breathtaking. Another fabulous excursion. It was informative, but not overly so you could soak up the scenery. We had a great carriage because my son Anthony is wheelchair bound so there was extra space for the families to play. Once on the assigned car, passengers are free to choose any seat available. So much beauty, history, and fun. The sights were really good. Also learned some history along the way. This was an amazing way to see parts of Alaska that you wouldn't get to see by car. Beautiful scenery and experiencing a bit of history was great. Ship passengers got to board first. But that reflects on the manners of the travelers and not the tour. Train was comfortable and commentary provided was very good. Thank you! The scenery was spectacular. Fun 2 hour ride into the past. The scenery was incredible and the narration was entertaining and interesting. Great sights, knowledgeable guide!! The uncertainty around wait times it just wasnt possible for us to provide the consistent, high-quality service without delays. As we headed back, we realized we were fortunate to have had that side on the way up since coming back down there wasn't any commentary at all. Excellent customer service, the young lady walked us over to where the train was leaving from as we were short of time after flight. Also, it would be nice if the there were better accommodations for wheelchairs. You do not board right by the ship. They provided water for the journey and each train car has a restroom. Im still blown away by all the beauty. This is must if you enjoy train rides and beautiful scenery. A long train ride through the mountains above Skagway accompanied by an excellent historical narration by our Conductor. The railway bridge in Carcross will be quiet for the summer as the White Pass Yukon Routes trains will be staying on the Alaska side of the border for 2022. I took some of the most beautiful pictures of my trip on this train. What a great train ride. The personnel were very friendly and knowledgeable. Yuk! This trip was full of history, learning how this railroad was constructed. I would recommend this trip to everyone that visits Skagway. It, in no way relives the experience as I remember it. This tour again was well done by great people. The car we were leaked rain from the roof inside onto us and our seat for about an hour. Same guarantee offered as cruise line. The most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Smooth ride, bears, glaciers, mountains, water falls, rivers and natural at it s best. I loved the train ride it has a place for you to go outside and ride. The highlight of our Alaska Cruise Vacation. We were a group of 21 and ended up having to split up to board the train on 3 different cars. A wonderful scenic excursion with informative commentary and good service. There was an issue with the on-board intercom so we were not able to hear all the guide's commentary. We had to walk up the tracks to board and got the left over seats. The only complaint was that it was hard to hear what the guide was saying due to the train. Very comfortable seating and breathtaking views of the Alaska wilderness. If you want to see more of Skagway, The White Pass Railroad Summit Excursion and Train Tour is the way.. Very pretty scenery. Thats good news for many Skagway tour operators that take cruise ship passengers into Canada. A very scenic way to take in the beautiful scenery of the area!!! A good trip for sightseers and railroad nuts alike. The sights are spectacular, make sure you go outside of the cars to take some photos/videos. An easing of restrictions at the border between Skagway and Yukon Territory will make it possible for tour companies to run cross-border excursions this summer. The White Pass Railroad Summit Excursion was fantastic. Relaxing for most part but we had some very loud people behind us who made it not so enjoyable. Also this is a long train ride (I know the time is listed) so just keep in mind before booking. Although I'm afraid of heights.i could not keep my eyes off the gorgeous views during this trip. Comfortable seating with large windows and a knowledgeable commentary pointing out highlights. But we definitely had been booking tours. What can I say? It's pricey but it's a one in a lifetime excursion. Totally reconditioned rail system and cars. so that was pretty neat. It was an excellent excursion. I would highly recommend this ! Best train ride ever! Great time on this adventure was wonderful we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend it. The views were spectacular though! Platforms were small. Awesome! We passed by some amazing scenic areas and the length of the ride was a perfect balance for enjoying my time and not feeling like I spent too much time doing any one thing. It was fun to do this first before then touring such an interesting and historic town. It was quite a pricey excursion to keep having to wipe water off the seat and us. Great history on the pass. Although full service on the rail tours from Skagway, Alaska wont be returning in 2022, WPYR staff say that the work done already this year will help with a smooth return in 2023. The lady who narrated our tour was a delight! Highlight of our trip!! Great trip! Seeing some remains of the pathway, from the train, that these people followed, made it hit home just how hard this life would have been. The ride is on the slow side rather than action packed, so kids can get a little bored. I find that hard to believe that the NWMP used machine guns.The overall experience was wonderful though.I appreciated the way they organized it so everyone gets to see both sides. The train gives you unbelievable views of the mountains and a brief history about the trek for gold rushers. Skagway is a really cool little town. A beautiful trip. There are also platforms that you are allowed to stand on and take photos outside. There are many opportunities to take pictures. Great views at he summit of white pass. People crowded, pushed, tried to save seats - just stressful to board train. Big windows, great views, worth the addition! Amazing and breathtaking scenery. We felt safe. As I stated I have done this before so I was able to tell my friend some of the cool facts but wish she could have heard more. Very informative, spectacular views. This was absolutely brilliant. The views were beautiful, but there was very very little narration. Many thanks for the hard work and dedication that all of the staff have put in to make this an experience that we'll remember fondly for many years to come. Carriages are old but clean. The staff were so friendly and informativemade our day!! The staff were excellent, from the check-in at the depot, for the duration of the trip, and were frequently mentioning points of interest along the way. We enjoyed every minute of this relaxing and informative tour. We got great views of the White Pass Trail! The tour guide was great. 
The White Pass Railroad excursion was one of the highlights of our Alaskan Cruise adventure. We had a fabulous day . Bridge construction was completed in early April 2022. This was a good experience to do one time, but it is not something I would do a second time if I were to return. One suggestion is with boarding. Fabulous train ride. The views are spectacular, and the railroad trip of 3 hours was definitely the high point of our 7 night Alaska Cruise vacation. We did the 8:15am ride and it was really foggy. It's nice sitting in the warm car but the outside area is where it's at! It was very pretty scenery and the narrator on the train was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed this tour. The tour you are trying to book is within 72-hours. You can stand out on the platforms to enjoy the wind in your face and the thrill of hanging off the side of a mountain. A truly amazing journey. We took the 8:15 ride and the car was not crowded at all. Everything went very smoothly, and you could tell that the staff enjoyed their work. Love the train well maintained and the history of the railroad. Just 1 small complaint. I really liked the fact that the train allowed you to see the scenery from both sides of the train. We sat on the left side of the train on the way up to the summit and it was great with the commentary all along the way. Pretty nice also to stand outside your train car for taking pics. Windows can be opened on cars - we just didn't do that. The left side of the train on the way up is the best. However, the delays in getting started, then having to wait on a broken-down train on the tracks, dramatically cut into our time. We got our most scenic shots from this train ride. Really enjoyed oour trip. Very beautiful.
